Learn to surf with the best instructors in Jaco! We offer a variety of lessons, packages, and guided tours for all ages and skill levels at the best surf spots around Jaco Beach, including Playa Hermosa, Playa Esterillos Oeste, Playa Esterillos Centro, and Playa Bejuco.

Our lead instructor, Erly Farrier, has over 27 years of surfing experience and 15 years of teaching experience. Erly and his team’s patient and easy-going approach will ensure that you have a fun and unforgettable experience. With your instructor by your side in the water, you’ll experience the thrill of catching your first wave.

Every Surf lesson includes free use of Surfboards after lessons for 24 hours, as well free use of our beach chairs with umbrellas at the beach.

Playa Jaco has ideal conditions for people experiencing surf for the first time: a beach break, shallow waters, and small to medium waves.

FAQs:

BEGINNER LEVEL

Start surfing on the “white water” (after the wave break). Gain confidence and balance with the instructor always at your side, explaining and correcting your foot-body position while also providing helpful tips to improve your surf skills.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Start to catch “green waves” (before the wave break). At this level, your instructor will begin to teach students how to read the ocean; anticipate what waves they can ride and when to start paddling. Also they will begin to shape the surf style of the student.

ADVANCED LEVEL

Start to ride the wave right or left, depending on ocean conditions. At this level the instructor will help form the surf skills of the student and teach some basic tricks, such as “cut-backs”, and “floaters”.
